Don’t give the impression that you are targeting Christians, Suleman tells FG

Johnson Suleman, general overseer of Omega Fire Ministries, has advised the federal government not to give the impression that Christians were being victimised.

In a statement by Phrank Shaibu, his communication adviser, Suleman said those who speak the truth have been vilified.
Recently, the Department of State Services (DSS) made attempt to arrest him.
After failing in the bid, the secret police then invited him to its Abuja headquarters.
Although he has promised to honour the invitation slated for Monday, the fiery cleric wondered why none of those responsible for killings in Kaduna have been arrested.
“There’s no end to the killing of Christians in Kaduna. Those behind the heinous crime are known. Yet no one has been charged for murder,” he said in a statement.
“Instead people like us who speak the truth are being persecuted. The federal government must not give the impression of partiality or suggest that Christians are the target of this administration.
“The governor of Kaduna state confessed that he paid money to some Fulani herdsmen as compensation to stop the killings in southern Kaduna.
“That means he knows those who have committed atrocities against Christians. He must be made to produce them to answer to charges of murder and other crimes.
“The governor’s response to the killings in Southern Kaduna has been  consistent with this mindset. In a recent chat with news men in Kaduna, the governor made different remarks to substantiate his love the herdsmen and their activities.
“First, he said when he became governor, he traced the attackers to Cameroon, Chad, and Niger and sent a message to them that one of their own, a Fulani like them, was now governor. This comment displays a dramatically bigoted mindset.
Suleman called on security agencies not to allow politicians and “ethnic warlords” use them to achieve “parochial objectives”.
He said such developments could lead to grave consequences for the country.
Recently, he told his congregation that he had ordered his security aides to kill herdsmen who come around his church premises.
Suleman said he gave the order after he learnt of a plot to assassinate him.
