Manchester United will not try to bring in Benfica defender, Victor Lindelof, during the January transfer window.
According to BBC Sport, United manager Jose Mourinho, is ready to call off the chase for the 22-year-old Sweden defender, because of the form of Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo.
The Portuguese also has cover in central defence in Eric Bailly, Chris Smalling and Daley Blind.
Reports from Portugal had claimed Lindelof would become the club’s most expensive defender of all-time, costing between £38m and £42m. There were even speculations that he had been assigned a squad number at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils have gone unbeaten for 11 matches, since Jones and Rojo were first paired together in the 3-1 win over Swansea on November 6.
