Buhari urges cooperation between Executive, National Assembly

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday called for better cooperation between the Executive arm of government and the Legislature.
This, he said, was needed to ensure smooth implementation of his government’s policies and programmes.
Buhari made the call in his goodwill message to the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, on his 54th birthday.
According to a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, the President said despite the principle of separation of powers, both arms of government should be united in the promotion of the common good of the people.
He said whatever differences that may occasionally arise between the two arms of government should not be allowed to compromise their “common goals of promoting the greater progress and development of Nigeria.”
