Premier League champions Leicester City have made a 15.5 million pounds bid for Nigerian youngster Wilfred Ndidi.
Nath Boys of Lagos star Ndidi has excelled since joining Belgian club Genk, posting impressive performances for the club, which has now seen him attract the interest of the English champions.
Reports in Belgium have claimed Leicester have already made a bid of £15.5m for the player, who is now seen by ‘The Foxes’ as a possible replacement for N’Golo Kante.
Leicester have struggled since losing Kante to Chelsea in the summer, and believe Ndidi will be the ideal replacement for the Frenchman.
Ndidi, 19, started out as a central defender, before being converted to a midfielder by Genk, a position he has now excelled in, propelling himself unto Leicester’s radar.
A source close to the Nigeria international has also admitted the player is attracting interests from an English club.
“He (Ndidi) is doing well in Belgium, and there is an interest from an English club that I can tell you, but I cannot confirm the name of the club to you at the moment,” the source told newsmen.
If he joined Leicester, Ndidi will become the second Nigerian star at the club after Ahmed Musa, who joined ‘The Foxes’ in the summer.
