ita Ofili-Ajumogobia a federal high court judge has been caught by EFCC detectives in a fake hospital admission scandal in Lagos. It was revealed that on Wednesday, October 19, EFCC officials contacted Justice Ofili-Ajumogobia by phone over her refusal to report for an interrogation on corruption allegations. The judge however told them that she was on admission in a Lagos hospital in Ikoyi, that was why she had not come to the EFCC office.
She said she was admitted into the intensive care unit of Golden Cross Hospital on Bourdillon Road in Ikoyi. However, things turned sour when the EFCC agents arrived at the hospital and found out that she had not been to the hospital since October 13, 2016. The detectives also found that the hospital was in collusion with her, as a medical staff of the hospital was trying to insert her name into their records as their patient. When the detectives discovered that she was not in the hospital, they called her phone and she insisted she was. When they told her, they were in the hospital and she was nowhere to be found, she cut the connection. According to Sahara reporters, the EFCC have invited the medical director of the hospital for questioning to explain his role in the racket.
Meanwhile, five other judges, Mohammed Nasir Yunusa, Hyeladzira Ajiya Nganjiwa, Appellate Court Judge, Uwani Abba-Aji, Justice Agbadu James Fishim and Musa Haruna Kurya who received invitations at the same time with Justice Ofili have responded and cooperated with the anti-graft agency. Meanwhile, the EFCC has confirmed that the former governor of Enugu state, Sullivan Chime is under investigation for allegedly receiving N450 million from Diezani Alison-Madueke. It was reported that Dieziani disbursed $115 million in the build-up to the 2015 presidential election to campaign for the re-election of Goodluck Jonathan.
