While some Nigerians are wondering if Aisha Buhari only belongs to the kitchen and the other room, the first lady got international recognition as she was given an award in Belgium. In a post shared by the first lady via her Facebook page, she said the award she received at the African women’s forum in Belgium was dedicated to the Nigerian soldiers.

She wrote: I whole-heartedly dedicate the award presented to me by the Belgian Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Foreign & European Affairs, Minister Didier Reynders at the African women’s forum on “Women’s Role in global security” to the Nigerian Military men and women who have lost their lives and those at the war front battling to restore peace in the North East .

The first lady was a key speaker at the event that was attended by several first ladies from Africa.
